Random Picker
Paste a list and let the picker choose one option at random — fair giveaways and decisions.

Thanks for the feedback!
Paste your options one per line, click Pick one, and this random picker chooses a single winner from the list. It is built for giveaway draws, deciding who presents first, choosing a restaurant, or ending any "you decide" standoff.
How your list is read
- Every non-empty line is one entry. Spaces at the start and end of a line are removed and blank lines are skipped.
- At least two entries are needed; with fewer, you are asked to add more.
- Duplicate lines count separately, so each copy is its own ticket.
The result shows the chosen line under "Winner" and a count such as "Picked from 48 options". Always check that count against the number of entries you expected: a lower number usually means two names ended up on one line or some entries were missed while copying.
Using duplicates on purpose
Because every line is a ticket, you can run a weighted draw. A shop giving one entry per purchase can list a customer three times for three purchases, and that customer is three times as likely to win as someone listed once. For a strict one-entry-per-person contest, do the opposite: clean the list first with the Duplicate Line Remover so nobody's repeated comments count extra.
How fair is the pick?
The winner is chosen with the browser's cryptographically secure random generator, crypto.getRandomValues, rather than the weaker Math.random(). With 50 entries, each has a 1-in-50 chance; the tiny rounding bias in reducing a 32-bit random number to a list position is far too small to matter for any realistic list. Every click is a fresh, independent draw, so the same entry can win twice in a row. The whole draw runs in your browser and the list is not uploaded.
Running a giveaway people trust
- Publish the rules first: deadline, who can enter, and whether it is one entry per person or per comment.
- Collect the entries, remove ineligible ones and duplicates, and note the final count.
- Screen-record or livestream the draw, showing the full list being pasted and the "Picked from" count.
- Draw reserve winners too, in case the first winner does not reply: delete the winner's line and pick again.
Everyday uses
- Classrooms: keep the class list ready and pick who answers next.
- Offices: choose who speaks first at stand-up or who orders lunch.
- Home: settle which film to watch or who takes the last slice of cake.
