Split PDF
Extract a page range from a PDF into a new file.
Only the first file is used. Remove it to use a different one.
Use commas between pages and a dash for a range.
Your PDF is ready

Thanks for the feedback!
Split PDF copies the pages you choose into a new, separate PDF and leaves the original untouched. Type your selection into the Pages box, press Extract pages and download. Use it to pull one chapter out of a textbook PDF, send just the relevant pages of a contract, or break a long combined scan into separate documents.
Writing the page selection
- Separate single pages with commas:
1,4,9. - Write ranges with a hyphen, lower number first:
12-18. - Combine them freely:
1-3,5. Spaces are allowed.
The new file follows the order you type, and a page listed twice appears twice. Pages beyond the end of the document are skipped, and so is a backwards range like 8-4. If nothing you type matches a real page, the error message tells you how many pages the PDF has.
Examples
| You type | New PDF contains |
|---|---|
1-3,5 | pages 1, 2, 3, 5 |
5,1-3 | pages 5, 1, 2, 3 |
2,2 | page 2 twice |
10-12 on an 11-page file | pages 10, 11 |
Splitting one file into several parts
Each run produces one PDF, so run the tool once per part. To break a 60-page combined scan into three documents, enter 1-20 and download, then 21-40 and download, then 41-60. The file stays loaded between runs. Your browser gives repeated downloads the same base name with a number added, so rename each part as you save it.
Reordering pages with a split
Because the output follows your typed order, this tool doubles as a simple page reorderer. To move the last page of an 8-page file to the front, type 8,1-7. To swap pages 3 and 4, type 1,2,4,3,5-8.
Everyday uses
- Saving one month's payslip or statement from a PDF that holds the whole year.
- Sharing only the chapter a class needs instead of an entire textbook.
- Sending the signature pages of an agreement for signing without the full contract.
- Separating a batch of receipts scanned in one go into one file per claim.
Split or delete?
Listing the pages to keep is quicker when you want a few pages out of many. When you want almost everything except a few pages, it is simpler to name the unwanted ones in Delete Pages. To put split pieces back together in a different arrangement, use Merge PDF.
What the new file keeps
The extracted pages are copied exactly, so text remains selectable and images keep their quality. Bookmarks from the source are not carried over, and the file is usually much smaller than the original when you take only a few pages. Extraction runs locally in the browser, without uploading your document.
