Rotate PDF
Rotate all pages of a PDF by 90, 180 or 270 degrees.
Only the first file is used. Remove it to use a different one.
Use commas between pages and a dash for a range.

Thanks for the feedback!
Rotate PDF turns every page of a document 90° clockwise. Add the file, press Rotate 90° and download the rotated copy. It fixes scans that came out sideways, landscape tables that open in the wrong direction and phone-camera PDFs that display on their side.
Where sideways pages come from
- A landscape document, such as a wide spreadsheet printout, placed on a flatbed scanner in portrait position.
- Phone scanning apps guessing the orientation wrongly on pages with photos or very little text.
- A whole stack fed into a document feeder the wrong way round, which leaves every page upside down.
Getting 90°, 180° or 270°
Each pass adds 90° clockwise. For a bigger turn, download the result, add that downloaded file, and rotate again. Pressing the button a second time without changing the file does not add more rotation; it starts again from the original.
| Where the top of the page points now | Passes needed |
|---|---|
| Left | 1 (90°) |
| Down (upside down) | 2 (180°) |
| Right | 3 (270°, same as 90° anticlockwise) |
A clockwise turn moves the top of the page from the left edge to the top, which is why a page lying with its top to the left needs just one pass.
Why rotating here loses nothing
Every PDF page has a rotation setting that tells viewers and printers how to display it. The tool changes that setting rather than redrawing the page, so text stays selectable, images keep their full quality and the file size barely changes. If a page already had a rotation, the new 90° is added to it; a page set to 90° becomes 180°. Bookmarks and links in the file are kept.
Rotating only some pages
All pages turn together. When just one page is wrong, such as a landscape table on page 4 of a 10-page report, work around it:
- With Split PDF, save pages 1-3, page 4 and pages 5-10 as three separate files.
- Rotate only the page 4 file here.
- Join the three files in order with Merge PDF.
Tips
- Check the direction in a viewer before rotating, so you know how many passes you need.
- If pages are also in the wrong order, fix the rotation first and then the order; each tool leaves the other property alone.
- Anything stamped onto a page, such as page numbers or a watermark, turns with it, so a number added along the bottom of a sideways page will sit along a side once the page is upright.
- Remove any opening password before rotating.
The rotation is applied inside your browser, so the document stays on your device.
