Thanks for the feedback!
The Repeat Text Generator copies whatever you type a set number of times and stacks the copies one per line. Type a word, a sentence or a whole block of lines, set Times, and press Repeat to get a result you can paste into a chat, a document or a test form.
How the Times field works
- Leave Times blank and the text is repeated 5 times.
- The maximum is 1,000 copies per click. Larger numbers are quietly capped at 1,000.
- Zero or a value that is not a number produces a single copy.
- Every copy is separated by one line break. There is no option for a space, comma or other separator between copies, and no numbering.
The input is copied exactly, including capital letters, emoji, leading spaces and any line breaks inside it. A two-line greeting such as Happy Diwali! followed by Shubh Deepavali repeated twice gives four lines, with the pair appearing twice in the original order.
What people use repeated text for
- Testing forms and layouts: developers and designers repeat a word to fill a field and see how a button, table cell or card behaves with long content, or to find the point at which a character limit kicks in.
- Handwriting and spelling practice: teachers create worksheets where a word or sentence appears on 10 or 20 lines for tracing or copying.
- Chat messages: a birthday wish or "I'm sorry" repeated many times is a long-running joke on WhatsApp and Instagram. Be aware that very long messages can be cut, and mass-repeated text sent to groups can be reported as spam.
- Sample data: a line such as
test@example.comrepeated 50 times gives a quick column to paste into a spreadsheet before you replace the values. - Checking limits: repeat
test100 times and you get 400 letters plus 99 line breaks, 499 characters in all. Paste that into a bio or post box to see exactly where it cuts off, or compare it with the 280-character X limit in the tweet character counter.
Working out the size of the result
The output length is simple arithmetic: copies × input length, plus one line break between each pair of copies. Repeating a 20-character sentence 100 times gives 2,000 characters of text and 99 line breaks, 2,099 characters in total. Some apps count a line break as two characters, so their total may be slightly higher. That matters if you are pasting into something with a limit: WhatsApp and most social apps cap message length, and SMS splits long text into multiple billed parts.
Useful follow-up steps
Because copies are joined with line breaks, you can pass the output to other line tools. Add Line Numbers turns 20 repeated lines into a numbered practice sheet, and Remove Line Breaks turns them into one long paragraph where the copies are separated by spaces instead. If you only need filler paragraphs for a design mock-up, lorem ipsum text reads more naturally than one sentence repeated.
