Biodata Generator

Generate a traditional biodata format you can fill and print.

Thanks for the feedback!

This tool produces a ready-to-fill biodata outline in plain text: a BIODATA heading, your name, standard personal fields, an education section and contact lines. You copy it, fill in the blanks in any word processor or notes app, and print or share it. It is the traditional format still requested for many government and clerical jobs, school and college admissions, and as the starting point for a marriage biodata.

How to generate it

  1. Type your name in Full name. If you leave it empty, the output says "Full Name" for you to replace later.
  2. In the large box, enter your qualifications, one per line, for example - B.Com, Delhi University, 2022. Whatever you type here is placed under the Education heading exactly as written. Leave it empty to get a sample line instead.
  3. Press Generate biodata, then Copy result and paste it into Word, Google Docs or WhatsApp.

What the output looks like

For the name Ananya Sharma with two degrees entered, you get:

BIODATA

Name: Ananya Sharma
Date of Birth:
Gender:
Nationality:
Marital Status:
Religion:
Languages Known:

Education:
- B.Com, Delhi University, 2022
- M.Com, Delhi University, 2024

Email:
Address:

The personal and contact fields are left blank on purpose, so fill them in after pasting. If you also want to list work or family details, add them in your document under their own headings; anything typed into the tool's box appears under Education.

Biodata, resume or CV: which to send

DocumentFocusTypical use
BiodataPersonal details plus educationGovernment forms, admissions, marriage
ResumeSkills and achievements, 1–2 pagesPrivate-sector jobs
CVFull academic and work recordResearch, teaching, jobs abroad

For private-company applications, recruiters and applicant tracking systems expect a resume without religion or marital status; the ATS resume builder creates one.

Turning it into a marriage biodata

Families usually expect more than the basic outline. After pasting, consider adding:

  • Personal: height (commonly written in feet and inches), complexion if your family expects it, diet, hobbies.
  • Profession: job title, employer, city and, if you choose, annual income.
  • Family: parents' names and occupations, siblings and their status, native place.
  • Horoscope details, such as rashi, nakshatra, gotra and time and place of birth, only if your family uses them.

Add a recent, clear photograph and keep the whole biodata to one A4 page. The height converter helps if you only know your height in centimetres.

Sharing it safely

Biodata files are often forwarded well beyond the first person you send them to, especially through WhatsApp groups. Share a phone number and city rather than your full home address, and never include Aadhaar, PAN or bank details in a biodata; those are requested separately and only when genuinely needed.

Frequently asked questions

What should a biodata for a job include?
Name, date of birth, gender, nationality, marital status, languages known, education and contact details, which is the outline this tool generates.
What is the difference between a biodata and a resume?
A biodata centres on personal details and education, while a resume focuses on skills, work experience and achievements for a specific job.
Can I download the biodata as a PDF or Word file?
The tool gives you text to copy. Paste it into Word or Google Docs, finish the details, and save or print it as a PDF from there.
Where do my work or family details go?
Anything typed into the details box is placed under Education, so add work and family sections yourself after pasting the text.
Should I include my Aadhaar number in a biodata?
No. Biodata are shared widely, so keep identity numbers and bank details out of them and provide those only when officially required.
