Thanks for the feedback!
This cover letter generator builds a complete three-paragraph letter from three inputs: your name, the job title, and a line or two in your own words about why you fit the role. It is meant for job seekers who need a correctly structured first draft in a minute, which they then personalise before sending.
What goes into the generated letter
The output always follows the same shape, so it helps to know which parts come from you and which are fixed text:
- Salutation: it opens with "Dear Hiring Manager,".
- Opening paragraph: "I am writing to express my strong interest in the [Job title] position at your company." Whatever you typed in the main box follows straight after, exactly as written.
- Middle paragraph: a standard statement about taking ownership of outcomes, working across teams and delivering measurable improvements. Everyone who uses the tool receives this identical paragraph, so it is the part most worth rewriting.
- Closing: a request to discuss the role, a thank-you, and "Sincerely," followed by the name from the Your name field.
If Your name is left empty the sign-off reads "Your Name", and if the main box is empty a generic sentence about hands-on experience replaces your pitch. Fill in the Job title field as well; leaving it blank produces the clumsy phrase "the the role position".
Writing the one or two lines that matter
The main box is the only place where the letter becomes about you, so treat it as a short pitch. A strong entry names the company, gives one relevant achievement with a number, and connects it to what the employer needs. Compare these two inputs:
- Weak: "I am hardworking and a quick learner."
- Stronger: "Meridian Logistics is expanding its route-planning team, and at my last job I cut dispatch planning time by 30% using Python and SQL."
The company name does not appear anywhere else in the letter, which only says "at your company", so mentioning it here is the simplest way to show the letter was written for this employer.
Example output
With Your name set to Priya Sharma, Job title set to Mobile Developer, and the main box reading "At Kite Foods, I would bring three years of React Native work on food-delivery apps.", the letter begins:
Dear Hiring Manager, I am writing to express my strong interest in the Mobile Developer position at your company. At Kite Foods, I would bring three years of React Native work on food-delivery apps.
The fixed middle and closing paragraphs follow, ending with "Sincerely, Priya Sharma". The result box is read-only, so use Copy result to move the text into your email or word processor for editing.
Finishing the draft before you send it
- Replace "your company" with the real company name and, if you know it, "Hiring Manager" with the person's name.
- Rewrite the middle paragraph around one or two concrete examples from your resume: a project, a result in numbers, or a tool the job ad asks for.
- Add practical details that Indian recruiters usually want early, such as your notice period or earliest joining date, and your current city if the job needs relocation.
- Keep the finished letter to one page. For an email application, paste it into the email body and attach your resume as a PDF.
To confirm your resume actually mentions the skills the job ad lists, compare the two texts with the Resume Keyword Checker.
What this tool does not do
It is a template, not an AI writer: it does not read the job description, research the company or invent achievements, and the same inputs always give the same letter. That predictability gives you a clean, polite structure to start from, but a letter sent unchanged will read like every other applicant's, so set aside ten minutes for the edits above.
