Thanks for the feedback!
The Modern Resume Builder lays out your details as a clean single-column resume with a violet accent colour, and the live preview beside the form updates with every keystroke. When it looks right, the Download PDF button opens your browser's print dialog so you can save the page as a PDF.
What the modern style looks like
- Your name in large violet type, with the job title underneath and a contact line that joins email, phone, city and link with dots.
- A thick violet rule under the header, and small uppercase violet headings for Summary, Skills, Experience and Education.
- Skills shown as rounded, outlined tags instead of a plain comma list, which makes a long skills section easier to scan.
- Each job on one line as "Role — Company" in bold, with the dates aligned to the right and your achievements as bullet points below.
Any section you leave empty is hidden from the preview, so there are no blank headings. The Style menu under the form switches the same content to Professional (deep blue accent) or ATS (plain black, commas between skills) without retyping anything.
Filling in the form
- Header fields: Full name, Job title (for example "Web Developer"), Email, Phone, City and country, and a LinkedIn or portfolio URL.
- Professional summary: two or three sentences on who you are, your main strength and the kind of role you want.
- Skills: separate them with commas; each one becomes its own tag. Specific tools ("Figma, React, Google Analytics 4") beat traits like "team player".
- Experience: each block has Role, Company, dates and an Achievements box where every line becomes a bullet. Use "+ Add experience" for more jobs and Remove to delete one. Entries appear in the order you add them, so start with your current or latest job.
- Education: Degree, Institution and Year, with "+ Add education" for extra rows. Rows left blank simply do not show.
Writing bullets that suit a modern layout
With tags and coloured headings doing the visual work, the bullets should be short and factual. Start with a verb, add a number, and keep each to one line where possible:
- "Cut monthly report preparation from three days to four hours by automating Excel exports with Python."
- "Grew organic sign-ups by 40% in six months by fixing titles and page speed on 120 product pages."
Three to five bullets for your latest role and one or two for older ones keeps most resumes to a single page.
Saving a clean PDF
Click Download PDF and a new window opens with only the resume on it; if nothing appears, allow pop-ups for the site. In the print dialog, choose "Save as PDF" as the destination, keep the paper size at A4 (standard in India) or Letter for US applications, and untick "Headers and footers" so the page address and date are not printed. The saved file contains real, selectable text in Arial, which applicant tracking systems can read.
Limits to know before you start
- Nothing is saved between visits: reloading or closing the tab clears the form, so keep your text in a document you can paste from.
- There are no photo, projects or certifications sections. A college project can go in as an experience entry, and a certification as an extra education row.
- Section order is fixed as Summary, Skills, Experience, Education.
If a job portal is known to be strict about formatting, compare with the plain layout of the ATS Resume Builder, and check your wording against the job ad with the Resume Keyword Checker. Your details stay in the browser tab and are never uploaded, even when you create the PDF.
